Formatting & how it works FAQ

Paste a tracklist: one track per line.

  • Common separators: Artist - Title, Artist — Title, Artist: Title, Artist | Title, tabs
  • Numbered or bulleted lists are handled
  • Lines without a separator search as a single phrase

YouTube playlist import: paste a playlist URL into the dedicated field above and click Import. We fetch the video titles, strip common noise ([Official Video], [Lyrics], [Free DL], 【...】), and run them through the parser. (A URL dropped directly into the tracklist box also works as a fallback.)

Bookmarklet — scrape any page's tracklist: install the Track Finder bookmarklet once, then on any page (1001tracklists, MixesDB, SoundCloud descriptions, Reddit threads) highlight the tracklist and click the bookmark. Track Finder opens in a new tab with the tracks parsed. This is the recommended path for 1001tracklists — Cloudflare Turnstile blocks server-side scraping, but the bookmarklet runs inside your already-verified tab.

From 1001tracklists (alternative to the bookmarklet): use the Export Tracklist button on the 1001TL page for cleanest results and paste into the textarea. Raw select-all also works — the parser strips:

  • UI noise: Save / Pre-Save buttons, play counts, track numbers, artwork placeholder, [ID] placeholders, repeated uploader usernames
  • Metadata: leading timestamps, bare 05:10-style timecodes on their own line, w/ overlay markers, trailing [Label] tags, trailing Artwork alt-text
  • Section headers: lines ending in : with nothing after (Hot Right Now:, Killer Cut:, played:, Club Toolroom:)

Found a bug or a tracklist that doesn't parse? Report it on GitHub — paste a few lines of what you tried and what came out. Feature requests welcome too.
